Sister Lucille and Her Many Ministries in Milwaukee:
Sister Lucille has many amazing skills and talents, and she shares these with the poor and those in need in Milwaukee in many ways.
Sister Lucille volunteers every week at the St. Hyacinth Food Pantry, which serves two of the poorest neighborhoods in Milwaukee. She is integral to their operation in many ways. She assists in translating the needs of their Spanish-speaking clients. She also guides clients through the pantry, helping them in getting their food, clothing, hygiene items and other basic necessities.
Sister Lucille also volunteers at the Inner Beauty Center in Milwaukee, where she meets with clients who are victims and survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking; women who are forced to survive on the streets. She is available to listen to them, pray with them, and share a meal. She also assists with the sorting of donated items.
In addition, Sister Lucille volunteers at the annual Lenten retreat at Marquette University Campus Ministry. She meets with individual students, being "present" to each; listening to them, praying with them, and offering spiritual guidance and personal assistance.
Sister Lucille has volunteered in many capacities in the Milwaukee area over the years, from working with various youth groups to preparing meals and coordinating activities at community centers and nursing homes, to comforting preemie babies in the NICU at St. Joseph Hospital.
Sister Lucille served for many years in education, as a teacher, principal and Director of Spiritual Formation at Sacred Heart School of Theology. In addition, she spent time ministering in the Dominican Republic with the very poor. She has also served in leadership roles for the Congregation, including Provincial Councilor and as Director of Vocation Ministry multiple times, and currently serves in this capacity for the St. Clare of Assisi Region.
Thank you Sister Lucille for your many years of dedicated ministry helping the poor and those in need to bring fuller life to others!
